2022 - Jasper NP
After a month-long trek across Northern Ontario and the Prairies, Jen and I finally reached the mountains. We spent the rest of the summer in and around the Rockies, visiting a number of National Parks. Here are a few of my first images in Jasper National Park.
Regarding my waterfall images here: one was taken with a fast shutter speed to freeze motion; the rest with a longer shutter speed to create a more blurred, serene effect. I prefer the latter because they better reflect my state of being. But it's important to realize that neither approach is what we actually see as we look at falling water. Of course, most of us do not experience the world in black and white either. Photography is a slippery medium for representing reality, even without the tricks we perform with Photoshop.
