2023 - Sea Rim
Camping at Sea Rim State Park on Texas’ Gulf Coast was like a trip down memory lane. Both Jennifer and I love the seashore, having spent much of our lives near the sea in Nova Scotia. The humid shore breezes, the smell of salt air, and the sound of surf kindled fond memories. I was particularly taken by the evocative shapes of seaweed washed up on the beach, like forlorn flowers. The surf, shore birds, and misty mornings were also photogenic. Saddest were the dead seabirds that had washed ashore. We wondering if they were victims of natural hazards or victims of human activity such as the oil platforms visible on the horizon.
